The zigzag segments are very aggressive and usually matched with small diamond grits like 16#, 30#, etc(big diamond particles). It is good for floor coating removals (paint, glue, etc.) or coarse grinding of the concrete. Choose the right diamond grits and bond types to get the best performance.Features:

How to choose the right segmented type concrete grinding tools for your project?

Step.1 Choose the right type diamond grinding shoes to fit your grinding machines.

There are so many different types of diamond grinding shoes, including trapezoid type, husqvarna redi-lock type, HTC quick change type, and others. They are used to fit different types of floor grinding machines, such as:

Step.2 Choose the right diamond segment shape and numbers for your grinding project.

When doing the concrete grinding, the diamond segment shape and number also matter. Choose the right shape and number of diamond segments to fit your project.

There are 3 typical diamond segment shapes: arrow segment, segment bar, round(button) segment.

• Arrow Segment – is more aggressive and usually used for thin floor coating removals and coarse grinding
• Segment Bar – is usually used for coarse & medium grinding
• Round Segment – delivers less scratches and usually used for fine grinding

Under a same counter weight, the less number of the segment, the more pressure of the segment. So we can reduce the segment number to get a higher pressure of the segment, to get a better grinding performance for extremely hard concrete. SIngle segment is a good choice for extremely hard concrete.

What’s more, the segment height of Sunny grinding segments is usually 10mm or 12mm. Some shapes are 13mm, such as our oval type. You can also customized the height within the normal range.

Step.3 Choose the right diamond grits and bond types for your grinding project – Very important

Diamond grits and bond types are the key point. It decides the performance of the diamond grinding shoes.

It is used for holding the diamond particles and exposing the particles during the grinding work. Different bonds are used for grinding different hardness of concrete. Knowledge About Concrete, Bond, and Grit

Concrete:
The concrete can be soft, hard, abrasive, dusty and brittle, etc. There are no two concrete floors ever the same. Typically the concrete will be more abrasive when it is new or has a high concentration of sharp sand. The rougher of the concrete floor, the harder of the bond you need, to get the best performance of the diamonds.

Bond:
The metal binder that holds the diamond grit in the segment. Typically the harder of the bond, the longer lifespan of the concrete grinding tools. Hard bond is used for soft concrete, the medium-hard bond is used for medium concrete, and soft bond is used for hard concrete.

Grit:
One of the measurement units used for the diamond particle size in the segment. The smaller of the diamond grit number, the bigger of the diamond particles. Typically the smaller of the diamond grit number, the more aggressive of the segment. So, the small diamond grit is usually used for coarse/medium grinding, while the large diamond grit is usually used for fine grinding or polishing.
